I am a lover of athleisure wear, always have been and will be! I love soft fabrics that are built for endurance! This is such a weird time for us, stay at home orders are in effect, and all fitness centers are temporarily closed. My gym has been closed for almost two months and I often, wonder if the elliptical machine misses me at all. At this time, I really don’t know when fitness centers will reopen. Most of us are having to work out from home without the luxury of exercise machines, home gyms, fitness trainers, and fitness classes. All of that is about to change in the future due to social distancing. Will we be able to resume Zumba, Soulcycle, kickboxing, or hot yoga? I’m curious to see if we will be able to use the sauna, steam room, hot tub, or even the lap pool at our gyms. In the meantime, we can still try to do some exercise at home and maybe even get other family members involved. I am sharing with you some of my favorite items in addition to some stuff I am waiting to be delivered. I’m trying to do better and I vow to take a few laps around the lake and enjoy some fresh air today.
1-KETTLEBELLS are great because they are versatile, you can use them with one or two hands, and they limit the amount of space you would use for dumbbell sets.
2-SPORTSBRAS are a necessity regardless of your bust size. I use the medium to high compression so that I am comfortable when working out.
3-WATERBOTTLE that keeps your water cool for the entire workout is necessary! I love the Swell brand because the bottle fits in the cup holders at my gym.
4-RESISTANCE BANDS are great for indoor and outdoor use. The handles make them super easy to use for standing, kneeling, or floor work positions.
5-VARIABLE RESISTANCE BAND SETS are perfect for working out anywhere. I even have a coworker that uses these at her desk. Resistance bands help tone, build muscle, and burn fat.
6-GYM BAG, I love my gym bag from Adidas that holds all of my equipment like towels, face wipes, and accessories.
7-APPLE WATCH or an equivalent fitness tracker that helps you keep fit. My Apple Watch syncs with my iPhone and tracks my activity for walking, movement, heart rate, and even tracks when I’m on the elliptical and it’s pretty accurate too! An added bonus for the Apple Watch is that I can change the music faster on the face of my watch without having to reach for my phone to skip a song.
8-STABILITY BALLS are great for any workout position. There are so many stability ball exercises out there, the possibilities are endless.
9-YOGA MATS are essential for any floor workout as lying directly on the gym floor is gross! Your yoga mat can be used for more than just yoga, it also serves as a protective layer between you and the germs on the floor.
10- WIRELESS EARBUDS are a must! I remember when I got my first pair and the relief I had from not having a wire wrapped around my neck all the time. My wired earphones would always slip or fall and pull in any direction with movement and it was really frustrating.
11-BOSU BALLS are perfect for balancing and building muscles, especially in your core. There are also hundreds of Bosu ball exercises out there to try at home.
